Kicking off the summer season Rush Sports is hosting a series of dealer events at their HQ to spend some quality time with their dealers that simply isn't possible in-store. Once commonplace in the bicycle industry, it's become less common for these gathering of minds to take place, but thanks to the persistence of Brandon Els, The Old Coot, the young team at Rush Sports kicked off the first in the series of events with a focused Maxxis dealer event.
With it's central location and it's ample space, the Rush Sports HQ proved to be the perfect location for hosting such an event.

Given the massive responsibility of catering, Phillip Erasmus, Rush Sports product manager, took to the task. Tongs in hand and boerrie (sausage) on the sizzle.
A warehouse visit proved to be quite a draw for the many dealers who made the trip from around Gauteng to meet, greet and eat.
Not many warehouses would be a suitable host for such an event, but thanks to the ever OCD Rush Sports warehouse team, the area was a fantastic location for the more formal proceedings of the evening to take place.
Showcasing the full range of Maxxis tyres stocked and supported in South Africa by Rush Sports provided quite the sight for many. It's not often you get to see the entire curated product range laid out and lit up in all it's glory.
Before the formalities but after the feast. Dealers were met with the sales team at Rush Sports and given a courtesy pack with important "study materials" for the evening.
Always ready for a presentation, Andre van Aarde was on hand to give the dealers an intro into the Maxxis lineup, cover some of the key tech points as well as give some insight into how Rush Sports sales team are looking to work closer than ever with their dealers going into summer and beyond.
Some serious concentration as dealers took in the information, taking full advantage of the opportunity to come together and learn.
Not all of the teaching was done in the presentation as lessons were shared by Brandon Els, The Old Coot, no doubt talking about one of the many events of this kind he's hosted in the past, with Sam Bull ever at the ready to listen and learn.
What would an event be without a bit of fun, games and giveaways? All of the dealers were included in a bit of "heads and tails" to win some prizes. These weren't without a good few laughs along the way.
Of course some serious talk is required too as you can see here with Dylan van Eyssen talking tech, business, workshops and tyres with Michael Maine.
Some serious quality inspection was par for the course, which is what you can expect when you give bicycle owners the opportunity to hold the goods up-close and get personal with the nitty gritty tech.
Wrapping up the evening with an opportunity for all to spend some time sharing tales, terrors and turmoils. I don't think there was a single person in attendance who didn't get the opportunity to tell theirs stories and listen to one another's.
With many dealers staying into the night, it's evident that events of this nature are a much needed happening, and you can be sure that this will not be the last event of it's kind hosted by the Rush Sports team...
